Freelance Digital Media Specialist

Microgigantic is looking for a Freelance Digital Media Specialist.

Primary Role:

Microgigantic is looking for a whip-smart Digital Media Specialist who will have primary responsibility for uploading, downloading and encoding media for a digital signage network. Extreme organizational, post-production editorial and project-management skills will be central to the position. The role will involve the creation of playlists and overall media management. So if you know digital media, we want to know you.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop best practices and deliver a process for collecting, ingesting, organizing, encoding and uploading media to be used as assets in the playlists of a digital signage network.
2. Creation of a network playlist and its daily/weekly management.
3. Management, organization and tagging of incoming assets.
4. Daily encoding of media assets.
5. Provide quality control of network file playback.
6. Working daily in digital media tools such as Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, Photoshop, etc. 7. Daily communication with media agencies, vendors and our client network team.

Experience/Background:

Bachelor's Degree in a digital media related discipline or Equivalent combination of education and work experience

Qualifications:  

1. Experience with relevant technology resources including hardware (Mac, ftp, digital storage drives/systems) and software (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Avid and encoding software).
2. Experience planning and scheduling complex playlists.
3. Strong computer, analytical, organizational, technical & communication skills.
4. Digital-media project-management experience.
5. Experience with media asset management tools.
6. Comfortable with ambiguity, ready to jump in and help out, collaborative flexible and a problem solver.
7. A bonus if you have animation or graphic design experience.

Candidates need to be able to work well independently. You'll be supervised by the Mg leadership team so you must also be able to work collaboratively...but don't fret; we're an awesome bunch to work with.
