Social Media Specialist

Children's Hospital is looking for a social media specialist. The Social Media Specialist drives these efforts as the lead journalist, editor and curator to tell the Children's brand story and to engage in every day health conversations important to children, teens and families in the community. As our social media presence has grown, so too have the opportunities available to organize and rally this group to better support the mission and vision of our organization in powerful ways, nationwide. Along for the ride is an army of clinical stakeholders, marketing, foundation and ITS professionals ready to help.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum of three years professional experience maintaining corporate social channels. 
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of all major social media platforms. 
  • Proven success utilizing social channels to creatively achieve organizational needs. 
  • Excellent writing, editorial and communication skills—a journalist at heart. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities, working quickly and reacting in real-time
  • Proven experience translating analytics into meaningful insight and demonstrable ROI. 
  • A collaborative, creative, can-do spirit is essential. 
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud's Raisers Edge CRM and NetCommunity CMS software is a plus. 
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting or with health content is ideal, but not required. 
Desired Technical Competencies:
  • Fluency with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Vimeo, and Google+
  • Experience with content management systems, preferably Joomla 
  • Experience with web analytics, preferably Omniture or Google Analytics 
  • Experience with Adobe CS Suite 
Essential Functions:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with doctors, nurses, child life, social work and other key clinical leaders driving Children's clinical excellence today.
  • Develop and maintain Children's social media editorial calendar, working in concert with the public relations team.
  • Write and publish storylines via Children's social media channels and Mighty Blog. 
  • Help develop and implement marketing strategies designed to drive brand preference, volume growth and fundraising support. 
  • Create social media platform ideas that heighten our visibility and relevance regionally and nationally. 
  • Develop subgroups within social media friends to provide ongoing feedback around health issues of importance, clarity around Children's role and to help problem solve and innovate. 
  • Monitor social media channels to protect Children's reputation and to identify opportunities for positive, meaningful engagement on pediatric health issues. 
  • Produce monthly dashboard of activity and key findings to optimize collective marketing efforts.
