Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders to gather functional requirements and write project briefs.
- Conduct audience analysis, develop personas and use cases as needed.
- Create wireframes, site maps, and user flow diagrams.
- Build prototypes for presentation and/or testing.
- Conduct (guerilla) usability tests.
- Present designs to stakeholders and developers.
- Draft functional specifications for use by developers.
- Consult with developers as needed.
- Render UX recommendations on a variety of topics.
- Previous experience as an Information Architect, Interaction Designer, Usability Specialist, or User Experience Designer.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including technical writing.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Java/Ajax, Flash and other interactive web technologies.
- Non-technical, but should possess an understanding of the web's capabilities and limitations.
- Proficiency with Axure and MS Office software applications.
- Up-to-date knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
- Knowledge of usability testing methods.
- Previous experience with online media and email marketing.
- Previous experience collaborating with clients, designers, and web developers.
- Knowledge of quantitative research methods and statistical analysis preferred.
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization methods preferred.
- Proficiency with Photoshop preferred.
- Proactively search for areas of improvement in our work product and draft POV's with persuasive arguments to support our recommended solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Machine Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Library Science, or Computer Science preferred.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Previous experience working directly with clients.
- Social media experience preferred.
