- Manage international communications, brand communications, internal company communications relating to PR efforts.
- Work with Aveda affiliate and distributor PR teams to provide PR toolkits to support world-class PR efforts in all Aveda markets. To provide approved materials supporting traditional public relations, beauty industry media relations, environmental industry/advocate outreach, promotions, media events, creative sampling, social networks, social media policies, blogger relations and social/digital community management.
- Lead Aveda international communications by developing world-class PR materials to support executional excellence in the markets.
- Create PR toolkits supporting consumer, trade and eco-focused press outreach.
- Serve as counsel, under the director of the International ED, GC & VP, GC, regarding brand positioning, strategic communications, digital/social media strategy, crisis/issues management, environmental and CSR programming and communications for all Aveda international markets.
- Be fully accountable for high-quality, on-time, on-budget results.
- Stay informed with international best practice in Communications including trends, successful strategies of other brands, and new tools.
- Develop best-in-class creative and high impact Communications Toolkits to markets and ensure that the correct processes are in place to support timely delivery of those materials and press samples to markets, ensuring markets are fully supported.
- Facilitate increased communication and sharing of programming, best practices and expertise among international affiliates.
- Lead an effective Qualitative Media Analysis Measurement Program and ensure markets are delivering monthly, quarterly and annual results to aid Global Communications in identifying and providing success factors.
- Promote strong relationships and communication between regional communications teams and their marketing counterparts.
- Ensure that best practice is communicated to all markets in a high-impact and meaningful way.
- Plan, execute and lead Global Communications summits and meetings on a regular basis.
- Lead Communications Strategy and Planning for major international Aveda events including Congress (every two years) and Master Jams Desired Skills and Experience.
- Bachelors degree in Communications or related field
- 8 years of related Public Relations Experience
- Strong and current knowledge and experience of public relations, issues management, consumer marketing and emerging standards related to traditional and digital media
- Strategic thinker with understanding of traditional and digital marketing and media disciplines
- Creative idea generator with ability to coalesce marketing and digital initiatives with other traditional communications programming
- Demonstrated success in teaching, coaching and counseling others
- Experienced leader with ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Track record in building relationships at an executive level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required including experience of writing proposals and presentations
- Must have good presentation skills
- Must have demonstrated project management and organization skills
- Estimated travel for this role is 20%
