Marketing Manager

Cargill Risk Management is hiring a Marketing Manager who will be responsible for working with a Marketing Director to establish plans for product line growth in 3–5 years. The Marketing Manager will be developing market insights, facilitating marketing communications and promotion efforts, managing profitability and enabling the sales team through tools and tactics. In addition, the person will solely lead strategic marketing initiatives in new or developing accounts. The successful candidate will have experience in the marketing discipline, an ability to drive results, comfort in ambiguous situations and a can-do attitude. This is a dynamic environment affording the right individual the opportunity to develop new relationships and work across multiple Cargill business units.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Work with Marketing Director to compose marketing plans to enable immediate business decisions and establish plans for growth 3–5 years ahead. 
  • Execute marketing plan initiatives such as product campaigns, new sales training session curriculum, sales tools (brochures, iPad app, branded emails) and employing other communication vehicles. 
  • Lead strategic marketing initiatives in new or developing accounts. 
  • Manage profitability for all products in the account through a cross-functional team including sales, marketing, IT, legal, ad agencies and compliance members. 
  • Will need to manage multiple projects with varying complexities and priorities. 
  • Develop market expertise, understanding both customers' needs and competitive offerings with an eye for turning insights into new products and product differentiators. 
  • Assist with fact-based analysis, creative thinking and implementation of marketing strategies to improve sales in Producer Solutions accounts. This may include conducting industry or market research, collecting feedback from customers, and analyzing sales results to drive new initiatives. 
  • Establish and manage metrics related to sales and/or marketing output and product performance If selected for an interview, you will be required to submit signed copies of your last two performance reviews. (A completed e-PMP is considered a signed copy.) 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Four or more years of commercial experience in a comparable role of working with a sales, consulting or marketing team to grow revenues
  • Demonstrated facility with marketing strategies, tools and practices
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative ability
  • Ability to influence others
  • Excellent writing and communication skills 
  • Strong computer skills (Power Point and Excel) 
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time 
  • Self-starter 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA preferred 
  • Familiarity with futures/options/commodity markets (emphasis on grains and pork industries)
  • Experience with agriculture
