Web and UX Developer

The Minnesota Orchestra is looking for a UX Developer. This position will develop the online components for all websites in support of the organization. The position responsibilities also include sales analysis of patron and transactional data and website visitor behavior to identify improvements to user experience.

Website Development
  • Front end and back end web development 
  • Develop and maintain Joomla CMS customizations in collaboration with Web and Social Media Manager 
  • Maintain a test website and implement procedures for keeping revision history and quality assurance using a version control system, such as Git 
  • Manage regular back-ups of website content 
  • Identify and fix inconsistencies, broken links, incomplete information, and collaborate with Web and Social Media Manager for website maintenance and occasional social media monitoring 
  • Use patron feedback and tools such as Google Analytics to improve online patron experience 
  • Assist Web and Social Media Manager with implementation of consistent online experiences 
  • Maintain online ticketing and shopping cart systems 
  • Assist IT with development of private Intranet site Identify opportunities to streamline processes, including MailChimp API integration and other similar projects 
Data Analysis
  • Generate reports to analyze sales and better understand patron transactional behavior 
  • Provide detailed website and email analytics, identifying user behaviors and opportunities to improve bounce rates using Google Analytics 
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Attend meetings as required 
  • Serve as back-up for email campaign management 
  • Serve as liaison with IT and Audience Services relating to Patron Edge and Patron Edge Online system updates 
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3–5 years related experience 
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and frameworks, such as jQuery, VB/C#.net, Git or other version control system 
  • Maintain updated understanding of CSS3 and responsive web standards 
  • Experience with content management systems such as Joomla and Wordpress 
  • Experience/interest in mobile application development and angularjs (or similar) a plus 
  • Experience with website traffic analysis, MS Access, MS SQL server a plus 
  • Experience with MS SharePoint or other intranet portal software a plus 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively both with team members and independently 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with little supervision 
  • Ability to contribute constructively in group decision-making 
  • Nonprofit experience and knowledge of classical music a plus
