The Account Supervisor will be responsible for leading accounts internally and externally by providing strategic thinking to help clients overcome challenges and take advantage of opportunities. We seek an individual with a diverse background of communication experience and the fluency in both traditional and digital media. Must be able to juggle multiple client projects and create order out of chaos.
Client Relationships:
- Earn and keep each client's respect and confidence as an advisor who brings value to their business.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of each client's business key issues, competitive situation and industry trends.
- Demonstrate confidence and authority as the day-to-day voice of the agency setting proper expectations within the agency and with clients.
- Anticipate potential relationship or expectation issues, assessing appropriate solutions, advising agency leaders and taking action to avoid or resolve.
- Must be able to articulate a cogent point-of-view.
- Work with multiple clients while making each feel as if they are our only client.
- Demonstrable track record of strategic problem solving and ability to grow client engagements.
- Develop clear, measurable objectives and strategies for client programs and build metrics to demonstrate agency contributions.
- Effectively assign, delegate, coordinate and monitor the work of agency staff assigned to client projects.
- Maintain a collaborative environment and positive mindset about the work, the client and agency staff.
- Assess and manage the proper skills and levels of staffing for accounts managed, find talented team members, build team skills and deliver more value to clients.
- Create and manage communications plans that include digital and traditional tactics to help client meet or exceed their objectives.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to develop and implement truly integrated, multi-discipline campaigns.
- Foster innovative thinking and creative ideas.
- Engage senior agency leaders of major client objectives and strategies, alerting of needed resources to meet a need and/or capitalize on an opportunity.
- Strong ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task.
- Simplify complex challenges into understandable, actionable focal points for all agency departments to act upon.
- Disseminate information throughout the agency, arming people with the knowledge needed to do their best.
- Outline expectations of, and communicate effectively with, agency team members.
- Communicate in a truthful and respectful manner.
- Strong written and oral communications skills, adept at presenting to groups and individuals.
- Create a clear scope of work in proposals / estimates to set expectations that lead to lasting, profitable client engagements.
- Lead team to document all changes in scope and communicate with client to re-set budget expectations.
- Supervise budget and billing process to ensure accuracy.
- Continually seek ways to grow client engagements and improve agency profitability.
- Proactively seek new clients and be an active contributor to new business pitches.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing or similar area.
- Possess 7+ years marketing communications experience with minimum of three years supervising direct reports.
- Act with honesty, respect and good judgment.
- Ability to deliver results from self and others in stressful situations.
- Computer—Proficient in Microsoft office software.
